Exciting Opportunity for an Engineering Manager

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our dedicated team, providing essential technical support to ensure the delivery of high-quality compressor solutions that meet stringent specifications, delivery timelines, and budget goals. In this role, you will drive continuous improvement across the entire value stream, from initial sales engagement through project execution and long-term aftermarket sustainability. Your expertise in coaching, developing, and mentoring engineering team members will foster an environment of continuous learning and adherence to best engineering standards. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with technical engineering leaders across HCO, Howden, and Chart to align strategies and achieve collective success. What will you do?

  • Lead the Engineering team to provide whatever technical support necessary to support the delivery of bare shaft screw compressors solutions

  • Drive continual improvement in the level of engineering support provided throughout the value stream

  • Coach, develop and mentor engineering team members fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement

  • Maintain a mechanical design facility for the presentation of drawings, specifications and instructions for the manufacture of standard and special compressors

  • Supervision and planning of contract design activities.

  • Work across the business to drive cost effective solutions and margin improvement, e.g. opportunities in supply chain for best value sourcing, efficiencies in operations for bare shaft product.

What do you bring?

To be successful you must have …

  • Previous experience with high accuracy mechanical equipment

  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders

  • Detail-oriented mindset to manage complex projects and processes

  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving company goals

  • An innovative thinker who can identify opportunities for improving efficiency and effectiveness

  • Knowledge of international standards and specifications. Excellent problem-solving ability

  • Broad range of communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients, senior management, and shop floor personnel.

It’s a bonus if you have (but not essential) ..

  • Ability to make technical presentations

  • Experience working in lean and continuous improvement environment and of using associated operational excellence and growth tools and processes

  • Experience with Formal Talent development, coaching and mentoring and succession planning

  • Ability to understand general compressor operations.
